What is the difference between implantation and replantation?

What is the difference between implantation and replantation?
What is the difference between a wisdom tooth transplant in place of the sixth tooth and an implant, and what are the advantages of the first option.

Indeed, in world practice it is customary to remove wisdom teeth for any reason (caries, pulpitis, orthodontic indicators) — this is a standard European protocol, which we also follow. Yes, we can place an implant anywhere at any time and guarantee its successful integration. But why throw out the whole eighth tooth, if there is a problematic six next to it? Still, there is a difference between a natural tooth, albeit depulped (with the nerve removed) and an artificial titanium implant.

During replantation, it is not necessary to additionally install a crown or carry out other manipulations, except for depulpation. The cost of transplanting a figure eight is comparable to the cost of an implant without taking into account the price of the crown and abutment, so this is also an opportunity to save money. However, if the patient has a severe autoimmune disease, which is a contraindication for implantation, then there will be problems with replantation.

This technology is actually not new: in my rare dental textbook from the turn of the last century, there is a page devoted to the technique of replanting not only eights that have erupted, but also the beginnings of teeth. Such a transplant has not become widespread due to its complexity, but it is a common operation for us. For example, when a child has a large cyst on the sixth tooth, it must be removed. In small patients, it is impossible to install an implant, because their bones are still growing, but it is possible to transplant a wisdom tooth that has not yet erupted. So we transplant the embryo of the eight to the place of the removed six and wait for it to erupt and position itself in the tooth row. In this way, the child develops a correct bite.
