Why is it important who performs pediatric sedation?

— This is absolutely essential, — says Sirius-Dent chief doctor Denys Valkevich. — The child should be sedated by an anesthesiologist-reanimatologist specializing in pediatric anesthesiology. An anesthesiologist for adults cannot do this. Moreover, it is very important that this pediatric anesthesiologist has experience in dentistry. Because anesthesiology in dentistry has its own specificity, and not every pediatric anesthesiologist can immediately organically integrate into this process and become part of the team. There is a dental specificity of sedation, and the anesthesiologist must understand it.

In addition, Sirius-Dent has a special “children’s day” for planned manipulations under sedation. It is allocated so that only children undergo sedation treatment and everything is only for them. Although urgent, we can also accept a child for treatment under sedation “by ambulance”.
